The New York Yankees are reportedly open to the idea of trading star second baseman Jazz Chisholm Jr. in the coming months. They’re seemingly not eager to trade him, but if the right offer comes across the table, it would be hard to pass up on it.
There are plenty of teams that would love to have Chisholm on their roster, but there might not be as many teams eager to give up a lot of value for him.
Sportsnaut’s Austin Konenski suggested the Seattle Mariners could be one of the top landing spots for Chisholm after they lost Jorge Polanco in free agency.

“The Seattle Mariners need to find a legit bat for the lineup after Jorge Polanco left in MLB free agency. Seattle entered the offseason looking for a player to take it to the next level after losing in the ALCS, and Chisholm would be a perfect fit,” Konenski wrote. “The Mariners have an opening at second base, and Chisholm would join Cal Raleigh and Julio Rodriguez in a potent lineup.”
After losing Polanco, the Mariners need an impact bat at second base. Chisholm is one of the best options on the market right now, and he wouldn’t break the bank for Seattle.
The Mariners could trade one of their young pitchers and another prospect to acquire Chisholm. This would give the Yankees a few more controllable players while the Mariners would get the impact bat they need. Both teams would head in the right direction going forward.
