Vikings predicted to cut ties with $140 million superstar in blockbuster trade with Bills

The Minnesota Vikings and Buffalo Bills have been linked in a blockbuster trade this offseason.

While discussing bold predictions for the 2026 NFL offseason, CBS Sports’ Jordan Dajani predicted that the Vikings will trade wide receiver Justin Jefferson to the Bills.

Here is why Dajani believes Jefferson in Buffalo is a possibility, as crazy as it sounds:

“Buffalo makes an aggressive move to pair its new coach with a friend of his — sending the Minnesota Vikings a package of picks for Jefferson. Why would Buffalo choose now to take a big swing at receiver? After all, Brandon Beane hasn’t been this aggressive before. Imagine a talent like Jefferson teaming up with a quarterback like Josh Allen.”

Jefferson is coming off the worst season of his career, tallying just 1,048 receiving yards and two touchdowns on 84 receptions.

The four-time Pro Bowler set NFL records during his first five seasons, posting three seasons with over 1,500 receiving yards and leading the league in catches (128) and yards (1,809) in 2022.

Minnesota would be foolish to trade Jefferson, as he’s the face of the franchise and one of the best receivers in football. However, with the Vikings’ quarterback situation being in a horrendous spot with J.J. McCarthy, trading Jefferson for a haul of draft picks and impact players could entice Minnesota as they look to build a brighter future.

The Bills would be a dream landing spot for Jefferson, as he would immediately step in as Josh Allen’s No. 1 receiver and transform Buffalo’s offense into one of the best units in football.

Jefferson also has a connection to new Bills head coach Joe Brady. The two worked together for a season at LSU, as Brady served as the wide receivers coach and passing game coordinator, while Jefferson was a senior wideout.

Trading for Jefferson would likely take a package consisting of a first-round pick, a high-level starter, and more draft capital. The Bills should be willing to give up whatever it takes in a potential deal for the future Hall of Fame receiver, as their Super Bowl window with Allen is shrinking.

Obviously, the chances of the Vikings trading Jefferson are very low. However, we’ve seen crazier things happen, and Jefferson playing with Allen in Buffalo would be absolutely electric.
