The Oklahoma City Thunder and general manager Sam Presti possess the draft capital to make a major splash at the 2026 NBA trade deadline, but don’t count on the reigning champions doing anything major to their roster.

Even with reigning MVP Shai Gilgeous-Alexander suffering an abdominal strain Tuesday night in a win against the Magic, the Thunder sits atop the NBA with a 40-11 record and a history lacking blockbuster moves at the deadline.

Follow along for the latest updates on what the Thunder will do ahead of the NBA trade deadline at 2 p.m. CST Thursday.

OKC announced Wednesday that it acquired the draft rights to Balša Koprivica from Utah in exchange for cash considerations.

Koprivica, 25, is a 7-foot-1 center from Serbia. He currently plays for the Basketball Super League’s Bahçeşehir Koleji in Turkey, where he’s averaging 5.4 points and 3.5 rebounds in 13.8 minutes.

There are no immediate plans for Koprivica to join OKC, considering roster spots are limited. The Thunder still needs to free up a spot on its 15-man standard roster to finalize the deal it made Wednesday to acquire Philadelphia’s Jared McCain. It could also have up to three first-round picks in the upcoming NBA Draft.

OKC Thunder forward Ousmane Dieng has been traded to the Charlotte Hornets and re-routed to the Chicago Bulls. The deals were first reported Wednesday by ESPN’s Shams Charania.

OKC sent Dieng and a 2029 second-round pick to Charlotte in exchange for Mason Plumlee. Charlotte then traded Dieng, Collin Sexton and three second-round picks to Chicago in exchange for Coby White and Mike Conley.

Thunder star guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander will be out through the All-Star break after sustaining an abdominal strain Tuesday night against the Magic, the team announced Wednesday.

Named as an All-Star starter, SGA will now miss the Feb. 15 game in Inglewood, California.

The OKC Thunder has acquired Philadelphia 76ers guard Jared McCain.

ESPN’s Shams Charania first reported the trade on Wednesday. OKC will send Houston’s 2026 first-round pick and three second-round picks to Philadelphia.
