The Phoenix Suns have Nick Richards on the trade market, Mike Scotto of HoopsHype reported Dec. 18.

The Suns are also looking for a power forward, league sources informed The Republic.

They started four perimeter players, Collin Gillespie, Devin Booker, Grayson Allen and Dillon Brooks, along with 7-footer Mark Williams, in their last game, a 116-114 loss to the Los Angeles Lakers on Dec. 14.

Phoenix gave up 24 offensive rebounds that led to 25 points for the Lakers.

The Suns were in pursuit of Golden State forward Jonathan Kuminga this past summer, but Kuminga remained with the Warriors.

Richards, 28, is averaging 3.4 points in 24 games in his first full season with the Suns. Phoenix traded Josh Okogie and three second-round picks to Charlotte for Richards and one second-round pick before last season’s trade deadline.

The Suns (14-12) have been playing three bigs for most of the season in starter Mark Williams, with Oso Ighodaro and Richards serving as backups.

Richards’ minutes have decreased in recent games.

The Suns also have rookie 7-footer Khaman Maluach, the 10th overall pick in the draft. Maluach has played mostly mop-up minutes, but he has played well in G League games.

Scotto reported Toronto has interest in Richards and that the Suns and Raptors have had “exploratory discussions” about a trade. The Raptors would send Ochai Agbaji and a second-round draft pick to the Suns for Richards.

A 6-5 shooting guard, Agbaji, 25, is averaging 3.5 points in 19 games this season for the Raptors.
