Good morning, baseball fans!
Earlier this week, it was reported by Ken Rosenthal and Will Sammon of The Athletic that the San Francisco Giants are one of five teams that are pursuing trade talks with the Milwaukee Brewers for RHP Freddy Peralta.
Peralta, 29, is coming off of a career-best 2025 season that he finished with a 2.70 ERA, 3.64 FIP, with 204 strikeouts to 66 walks in 176.2 innings pitched over 33 starts. He also made his second All Star appearance and finished fifth in Cy Young Award voting.
The Giants will have two reliable starting pitchers in Logan Webb and Robbie Ray, but could benefit greatly from the addition of someone like Peralta, if they can manage to seal the deal.
But they aren’t alone in their pursuit. According to the report above, the Baltimore Orioles, New York Yankees, Houston Astros and Boston Red Sox are also in talks with Milwaukee.
