The Seattle Mariners have acquired left-handed reliever Jose Ferrer from the Washington Nationals in exchange for catching prospect Harry Ford and minor league pitcher Isaac Lyon.
The Mariners announced the trade Saturday afternoon, shortly after numerous reports broke.
The 25-year-old Ferrer gives Seattle another lefty bullpen arm alongside Gabe Speier.
Ferrer made his MLB debut with the Nationals in July 2023 and posted a 4.36 ERA in 142 relief appearances over three seasons in Washington. The Dominican Republic native totaled 121 strikeouts and 35 walks across 142 1/3 innings.
Ford is the No. 42 overall prospect in MLB Pipeline’s Top 100 and the No. 4 prospect in Seattle’s farm system.
