REPORT HIGH FLU ACTIVITY. THERE HAVE BEEN MORE THAN 50 DEATHS SO FAR THIS FLU SEASON. ARKANSAS DEPARTMENT OF FINANCE AND ADMINISTRATION HAS ANNOUNCED THEY ARE WAVE-ING SOME FEES AND EXTENDING OFFICE HOURS. THE DEPARTMENT IS WAIVING ALL LATE FEES FOR VEHICLE REGISTRATIONS THAT EXPIRED THIS WEEK. THE WAIVER WILL APPLY TO ANY VEHICLE THAT IS RENEWED

The Arkansas Department of Finance and Administration waived all late fees for vehicle registrations that expired this week. The waiver applies to any vehicle that is renewed by next Friday, Feb. 6. The DFA said in a news release that the announcement is to ensure Arkansans do not pay a penalty for expirations during the week when state offices were closed due to inclement weather. DFA extended the hours of several Revenue Offices next week. The following locations will remain open until 6 p.m. each day: Van Buren, Fayetteville, Bentonville, Springdale, Fort Smith East, Jonesboro, Paragould.
