In our “Let’s Argue” series, our Mark Gunnels considers the hot takes, wacky predictions and unpopular opinions of Kansas City Chiefs fans from all over the world.

The Chiefs should trade Chris Jones

The line of thinking is easy to follow.

I’ll be lying if I said this idea hasn’t crossed my mind. Jones continues to get older — so if the team wants to move him, time is short. It must be done before his value plummets.

If push came to shove, the Chiefs should listen to any offers for him. But pulling the trigger? It would have to be a mind-blowing offer.

Fire Matt Nagy

This would be the opposite of a hot take.

It looks like a large number of people in Chiefs Kingdom want the team’s offensive coordinator to be let go. While the team did make the Super Bowl the last two seasons, Patrick Mahomes (and the offense) hasn’t looked right.

Some of the blame can be placed on injuries to offensive linemen, wide receivers and running backs. But Nagy has been the one constant.

Yes… it’s Andy Reid’s offense — and as long as he’s the head coach, it always will be. But there seems to be a discipline issue.

How many times did a positive play get negated due to a penalty? It feels like it happened all the time. And the Chiefs are near the top of the league in dropped passes. These are clear signs the offense isn’t being focused.

Something has to give.

During three years of close games, the Chiefs’ offensive scheme wore players out

I can buy this to a certain extent.

While we’ll never know for sure, it does seem like Reid would hold some things back until the playoffs. If you can win regular-season games without showing your best stuff, why wouldn’t you?

This clearly wasn’t the case in 2025. Over the last month, every one of the team’s games was essentially a playoff matchup.

At the end of the day, it’s clear the offense needs to reinvent itself.

The Chiefs should bench any core player with an injury, while everyone else plays to earn a 2026 roster spot

It looks like you’re getting your wish, Robbie.

In addition to getting a higher-than-usual draft pick, Kansas City’s elimination from playoff contention is allowing other players to showcase their abilities.

These last three games should give the team a chance to see what it has in these players. Depending on how it goes, general manager Brett Veach may choose to let certain players go, while others prove they should stick around.

It still feels weird that we’re about to watch Chiefs games with no playoff implications.
