Jonathan Kuminga’s future with the Golden State Warriors may be in question, but that hasn’t stopped Jimmy Butler from keeping his relationship the same.

Butler said Kuminga is his “brother” regardless of what happens on the court and in the front office. Where he’ll end up in the coming months isn’t Butler’s decision to make, he said.

“His future, that’s between him and whoever else,” Butler said. “That bond we’ve built…no future (decision) will change that.”

As far as his advice to Kuminga, Butler told him to be the “pro of pros.”

“You be the pro of pros,” Butler said. “Come here and get your work done. Smile.”

After an offseason of contract disputes, Kuminga eventually signed a two-year, $48.5 million deal with the Warriors in restricted free agency. Now, all signs point to a divorce between Kuminga and Golden State.

Kuminga has dropped out of the rotation in recent weeks, and reportedly has had meetings with head coach Steve Kerr that haven’t solved much.

Kuminga will be eligible to be traded on Jan. 15.
