Cincinnati Bengals star wide receivers Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins shut down the idea that quarterback Joe Burrow could be traded to the Minnesota Vikings.

“I’m hearing some trade rumors about Joe Burrow to the Vikings. Have you guys heard that? We want to shut that down?” sports commentator Kay Adams said to the wide receivers during an appearance on her show, “Up & Adams.”

Adams asked the question after Justin Jefferson, Vikings wide receiver and Chase and Burrow’s former college teammate, joined the men on the show.

Chase and Jefferson laughed in response, and Higgins said, “No dice, no dice.”

Chase then joked about what it would take to get Jefferson to come to Cincinnati. “I mean, if we get Justin Jefferson to take a $45 mil paycut, we could get him,” Chase said.

But that doesn’t look likely either. Jefferon smiled and shook his head no.

Rumors that Burrow could be traded to the Vikings, albeit dubious, have swirled in the media over recent days.

Vikings beat reporter Alec Lewis has repeatedly said that Minnesota would be interested in Burrow, Sports Illustrated reported. Lewis reiterated this notion on his podcast, “The Alec Lewis Show,” on Feb. 2.

“If a player like Joe Burrow is available via trade, I expect the Vikings to do everything they possibly can to try to make that happen,” he said.

Burrow has not asked for a trade and the possibility of him doing so is low, Sports Illustrated reporter Joe Nelson wrote in his coverage of the podcast.

Speculation that Burrow was unhappy in Cincinnati picked up in early December, leading some NFL analysts to question if Joe Burrow was considering leaving the Bengals or quitting football entirely.

Burrow recently challenged this idea during a sideline interview at the NFL Pro Bowl Games, telling a reporter that he was indeed happy in Cincinnati.
