Chicago Bulls center Nikola Vučević brought up Giannis Antetokounmpo’s recent involvement in trade rumors after an altercation at the end of the Milwaukee Bucks’ 112-103 win over the Bulls on Saturday.
“I’m assuming Giannis was mad about that report that came out the Bulls didn’t want to trade for him,” Vučević told reporters after the game.
While the Bucks led 110-103 with time expiring in the fourth quarter, Antetokounmpo threw down a windmill dunk in transition instead of choosing to run out the clock. Vučević was among the Bulls players that took exception to the slam, which sparked a scuffle between both teams.
Antetokounmpo later explained that Milwaukee’s status as the No. 11 seed in the Eastern Conference standings with a 13-19 record factored into his decision to dunk the ball.
The two-time MVP also posted an image of the windmill flush on social media.
Antetokounmpo’s long-term future has generated buzz throughout the start of the 2025-26 season, as ESPN’s Shams Charania reported Dec. 3 that the forward and his agent “started conversations” with the Bucks about “whether his best fit is staying or elsewhere.”
Lou Canellis of Fox 32 Chicago later reported that the Bulls were approached by Antetokounmpo and his representatives regarding a potential deal, but Chicago wasn’t interested (h/t BasketNews).
The Bulls are among the teams that the Bucks are chasing in the East standings, as they fell to 15-16 with Saturday’s defeat.
