Clemson is just six months away from launching Workday – the University’s new cloud-based HR and Finance system. This modernized and streamlined system represents a key step in the University’s business transformation initiatives.
This singular system will replace many existing systems and integrate business processes, so faculty, staff and student workers can spend less time navigating multiple platforms and more time on their work to advance the three pillars of Clemson Elevate.
Workday is scheduled to go-live at Clemson on July 1, this year.
What is Workday?
Workday is Clemson’s new enterprise resource planning (ERP) solution. It will manage human resources and finance functions for the University.
Right now, Clemson uses PeopleSoft (also known as CUBS) for HR and finance activities, plus several additional systems for extra functionality: OnBase-Performance for staff performance management, Concur for reimbursements, and Kronos for employee timekeeping, among many others.
After July 1, all these functions and more will move to one integrated system, allowing Clemson faculty and staff to accomplish required processes in one central location. Some systems will remain and integrate with Workday.
Workday is mobile friendly and includes self-service functionalities to allow employees and supervisors to manage many tasks with ease.
The day-to-day experiences of faculty and staff are at the forefront of the system’s design to ensure the final system reflects the needs of the University community and its related organizations.
What does it mean for faculty and staff?
Beginning July 1, faculty and staff will no longer use systems like PeopleSoft, Kronos, and Tiger Talent, and instead, will use Workday to complete necessary HR and finance tasks.
A complete list of systems impacted by the transition is available on the Workday@Clemson Fast Facts webpage. As final system configurations are made, this list may evolve over time.
