Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green is taking the high road to hearing his name pop in trade rumors ahead of Thursday’s deadline.

Asked on Tuesday about the possibility of being traded, Green replied “what a f–king run it has been” if this is the end of his tenure in Golden State.

ESPN’s Anthony Slater reported earlier in the day that Warriors management has had “active trade conversations” involving Green, particularly in the framework of their offers to the Milwaukee Bucks for Giannis Antetokounmpo.

Head coach Steve Kerr told reporters prior to Tuesday’s game against the Philadelphia 76ers that this deadline has “been a little more difficult than most” given the Warriors appear to be at least considering breaking up one of the last players from their championship dynasty.

If the Warriors are going to work out a deal with the Bucks for Antetokounmpo, it would require them to match up the salaries given their current payroll and tax situations.

Slater noted that Jimmy Butler’s salary ($54.1 million this season, $56.8 million in 2026-27) would make it easier to do a one-for-one match, but Green’s contract would be easier for a team like the Bucks to redirect in a separate deal.

Green is making just under $26 million this season and has a $27.7 million player option for next season. The Warriors’ next game isn’t until Thursday at 10 p.m. ET, so there’s a chance that Tuesday ends up being Green’s final game with the franchise.

If it does turn out to be the Golden State finale, Green will end up with the second-most games played to Stephen Curry in franchise history. He is a four-time All-Star and has won four championships with the Warriors.

We will find out where Green ends up with the NBA trade deadline scheduled for Thursday at 3 p.m. ET.
