Dominic Paris, MSBA, CPA, administrator for Financial Planning and Decision Support for University of Virginia Health, will join Vanderbilt Health in the role of Vice President of Finance and Divisional Chief Financial Officer for Affiliate Operations. His appointment is effective Feb. 9.

Paris replaces Karen Nanney, CPA, Vice President of Finance for Enterprise-Wide Functions, who will retire later this year after 40 years of steadfast service to Vanderbilt.
In this role, Paris will have financial responsibility for all Vanderbilt Health Services LLC (VHS) entities, including those entities fully or partially owned by Vanderbilt Health, along with the Vanderbilt Health Affiliated Network’s (VHAN) finance team.

Vanderbilt Health Services LLC includes 16 health care-related subsidiaries and joint ventures, including Vanderbilt Stallworth Rehabilitation Hospital, Vanderbilt Integrated Providers, and the Vanderbilt Health Affiliated Network. VHS also consists of community physician practices, walk-in and retail health clinics, imaging services, outpatient surgery centers, radiation oncology centers, a home health care agency, a home infusion and respiratory service, and accountable care organizations.
VHAN is a clinically integrated network of physicians, nurses and allied professionals transforming health care. Founded in 2012, VHAN now comprises more than 7,500 health care providers, 67 hospitals, 12 health systems and more than 360 physician practices located across Tennessee and surrounding states.
At UVA Health, Paris led the Medical Center and Clinic’s Business Consulting Services and Budget and Decision Support teams, where he provided business planning, analytics, cost accounting, managerial reporting, market analytics, budget, managerial financial systems training and benchmarking, and survey support.
He collaborated with the School of Medicine and University Physicians Group professionals to develop integrated, comprehensive business plans, including the development and implementation of a four-year operational plan for UVA’s Oncology service line that helped enable the achievement of National Cancer Institute-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center status.
In addition, Paris and his team supported UVA Health’s three Community Health hospitals, providing cost accounting, managerial financial systems, training and benchmarking, and survey support. He also developed career ladders for his team to provide advancement opportunities reflective of increased contributions.

Prior to his tenure with UVA Health, Paris worked in the finance industry at Accenture as Finance and Enterprise Performance Federal Civilian Portfolio Lead, and at Ernst & Young, LLP, as a TRICARE Management Activity Lead.
Paris holds a Bachelor of Arts from Virginia Tech and a Master of Science, Business Administration and Management from Boston University.
