The Minnesota Vikings have struggled throughout the 2025 NFL season, which has led to rumors about the future of superstar wide receiver Justin Jefferson being brought up.
Jefferson, who is arguably the best wideout in the NFL right now and on track to become one of the best in league history, has had a major down season. Due to the poor quarterback play the Vikings have endured this season, his frustration has started to rise.
He has been caught on camera multiple times showing his frustration during games. No one can blame Jefferson for not being happy with the way the team has played this season.

While the trade rumors have been growing louder, Jefferson doesn’t seem likely to try and force his way out of Minnesota. However, nothing can be taken for granted. There is always a chance that the 26-year-old superstar could decide that he wants to play somewhere else.

Amid the rising rumors, ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter spoke out with more intel about the situation. He provided an honest outlook for Jefferson and the Vikings.
“It’s hard to imagine that they would trade Justin Jefferson, but then again, a year ago, I would have said it’s hard to imagine the Dallas Cowboys would have traded Micah Parsons, and they did,” Schefter said.
Should Minnesota actually consider the idea of moving on from Jefferson, a team would have to pay a hefty price to get him. Any trade talk would likely start with two first-round picks and then some.
This season in 12 games played, Jefferson has racked up 62 receptions for 799 yards and two touchdowns. Those numbers are way down from what fans and the media are used to seeing from him. Last year, he totaled 103 catches for 1,533 yards and 10 touchdowns.

More than likely, Jefferson will be back with the Vikings next season. It would be a complete shock if he were to be traded.
There is a big difference between frustration and a trade demand. Jefferson has become the face of the franchise in Minnesota and moving on from that would be a massive change in his career. It’s possible, but no one should expect to see him anywhere other than with the Vikings barring a massive unforeseen change.
