The delayed consumer price index for January that’s coming out on Friday. Economists are expecting headline CPI to hold steady at 0.3% while core CPI, which strips out food and energy is seen picking up to 0.3% from 0.2% on a month-over-month basis.

After a stronger than expected jobs report, investors will be watching closely to see whether inflation is proving sticky and what that could mean for the Fed’s rate path in 2026.

Looking at the consumer, Wendy’s reports Q4 earnings on Friday, and it’s looking at at same store sales, those expect to fall in the high single digits with US comps slightly pressured by tougher comparisons to last year, promotional activity including the Krabby Patty collaboration and a pullback from broad $1 discounts.

And in energy, Enbridge posting fourth quarter results on Friday, and it’s forecasting EBIDA to be roughly flat year-over-year, keeping the company near the top end of its full-year guidance range.
