Coinbase falls short of Q4 estimates amid bitcoin slump

Time some more earnings, taking a look now at fourth quarter results from Coinbase. Let’s get you those.

Uh Q4 adjusted EPS 66 cents. It looks like the street had penciled in 86 cents.

Uh Q4 just EBIDA, 566 million. Uh the street was closer to 657 million.

I’m looking for revenue, there it is for Q4, 1.78 billion. The street was closer to 1.83 billion.

Um for transaction revenue for Q4, 983 million, the street was closer to 1.02 billion.

Uh looking for guidance. There it is. Uh Q1 subscription and services revenue. Um they’re calling for 550 million to 630 million.

Don’t see a uh comp yet on that. They are citing lower average crypto prices and staking protocol rates.

We were down more than 30% already this year. You were down more than 40% uh over the past 12 months.

There a concern of course, there’s been a slide in crypto prices, that the downturn in Bitcoin and what that would mean for the company’s financials, both now and ahead.

Having said that, uh just looking here, most analysts who cover this name still clearly think the the risk reward attractive, nearly 60% have a buy. The average target per Bloomberg is around 314.
