Steph Curry has made his position clear amid growing trade speculation linking the Golden State Warriors with Giannis Antetokounmpo, brushing aside the noise surrounding potential blockbuster moves.

With rumors circulating ahead of the NBA trade deadline, Curry was asked about discussions involving Golden State and possible interest in the Milwaukee Bucks star.

The Warriors star’s response offered little ambiguity about how he approaches hypothetical scenarios that sit outside his control.

Steph Curry dismisses Giannis Antetokounmpo trade speculation

Speaking in comments shared publicly by NBC Sports Warriors, Curry explained why he does not engage with ongoing trade chatter.

“The conversations are happening all the time. I don’t ever get into the hypothetical. It’s a waste of time. It’s a waste of energy. It’s not my job to do that,” Curry said.

The remarks underline Curry’s long-standing approach to roster speculation, particularly when high-profile names are involved.

While Antetokounmpo has been the subject of league-wide rumors amid uncertainty surrounding Milwaukee’s direction, Curry made it clear he does not see value in projecting outcomes.

Curry also addressed how potential moves are handled internally, drawing a clear line between player responsibilities and front office duties.

“Mike [Dunlevy] and the entire front office, I’m sure are making calls, taking looks, seeing what’s going on and if there’s something materialistic, something real?” Curry continued,

He concluded: “We have conversations about it, and the decisions are made. That’s our process. It’s always been that way. I’m assuming that it’s gonna be the same way over the next week and a half.”

The comments reflect Golden State’s established structure, where roster evaluations are led by management rather than driven by public speculation.

Although Antetokounmpo continues to be linked with potential moves ahead of the trade deadline, Curry’s stance suggests he remains detached from external narratives. Rather than fuelling rumours, he positioned himself firmly within the boundaries of his role.
